Robotic Aircraft Finishing System Awarded
Aerobotix secures a second international contract with a new F-35 European partner responsible for manufacturing and receiving components to assemble into the Full-Up aircraft. Aerobotix will supply a multiple robot workcell that will apply several coatings to the entire aircraft. The robots position themselves around the aircraft on X, Y, and Z rails enabling only three robots to complete all the required processes. “Being able to execute critical, automated processes on large parts with so few robots is going to be a game changer” says Keith Pfeifer, Aerobotix Program Manager for the project. “We can reduce cost, risk, and complexity for the customer while still meeting their requirements” he says.
