The integration of robots and other automation equipment is dependent upon PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programming to “tie” all of the pieces together into a functional production system. Our staff has unparalleled expertise in providing PLC programming for turn-key robotic systems used in aerospace and military applications. The PLC is used to communicate directly with the robot controller and other critical pieces of process equipment, providing network communications and digital and analog I/O. Most systems utilize Allen Bradley PLC’s with Rockwell Automation software.
SCADA (Supervisor Control and Data Acquisition) are what the user interfaces with in order to control, collect data and report information from the robotic system and its components. Aerobotix provides a custom developed GUI (also known as HMI-Human Machine Interface) as the operator’s interface for every turn-key system. This is the single point of interface that allows the operator to initiate and monitor all operations of the system, including selecting and starting automatic programs, performing: manual functions, maintenance and troubleshooting functions, warning and alarm monitoring, process equipment set-up and calibrations, input of process control parameters, error logging & recovery, and process monitoring. A typical HMI will include definable user access levels and input screens for the operators to set process parameters and warning & alarm levels.
In addition to the HMI, we customarily provide robotic systems with databasing and reporting, custom developed to user requirements. Many of these applications involve web based programming using HTML, XML, PHP, Flash, all developed and supported in-house by our experienced software engineers.
